Very interesting read Derrick. I also have a two bag system that consists of 1 Lowepro backpack and a smaller Lowepro bag that doubles up as a handbag! I take a lot fewer lenses except for when we travel in Australia in our motorhome. Then all my lenses and bodies come along for the ride!
